GROUNDED - Solo exhibition
Welcome to the Museum Kvarnen and the opening of
Linnéa Eriksson's exhibition GROUNDED.
Opening:
Saturday, October 5
13-17 pm
Address:
Museet Kvarnen
Kvarntorget 2,
Filipstad
Sweden
Hours of Operation:
Tue-Sun 13-17 pm
The exhibition will be displayed until 27 October 2013.
The exhibition "Grounded" is based on my
reflections of now and then - locations, relationships, and a two-tier search
of the feeling of home and belonging. On the road, with a colorful compass
around my neck, a structured design language to find both strength and peace.
Grounded? Searching? Split in two.
My work is a reflection of my
surroundings, and my creativity has its origin
in the urban – in the rough surface of the city and in the structured geometric. I find my inspiration in
pieces of metal, in the feeling of a heavy beat, and in an explosion of color
from within the spray cans. It is in a combination of traditional jewellery
crafts and the modern street expression that my jewellery finds its charge, and subjects such as family history, the need to
belong, and jewellery as a protective shield
is constantly recurring in my artistic work.
